Privacy policy
Define Detailing is a mobile car detailing business on the Gold Coast, Queensland. This policy explains what we collect through this website and how we use it.
What we collect
- Details you give us: your name, mobile number, email, car make and model, your vehicle's size and condition, notes you add, and your address when you book.
- How you use the site: pages visited and actions such as starting a quote, collected by Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel using cookies and similar technology.
- Details saved in your own browser (local storage) so the booking calendar can fill in your name, email, phone and car for you. This stays on your device. You can clear it by clearing your browser's site data.
Why we collect it
- To prepare your quote, take and manage your booking, and contact you about it.
- To apply offers you've claimed, such as the free paint decontamination.
- If you agreed when you submitted a form, to send you occasional deals by text or email. You can opt out at any time.
- To measure and improve the website and our advertising.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your details. We use these services to run the business, and some of them store data outside Australia (including the USA):
- Formspree: delivers website form submissions to our inbox.
- Cal.com: our online booking calendar.
- Google: Google Analytics (website statistics), Google Fonts, and Google Sheets if we keep a record of enquiries.
- Meta (Facebook & Instagram): the Meta Pixel measures how our ads perform and helps show our ads to people likely to be interested.
Cookies, analytics and ads
Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel use cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can opt out of interest-based ads through your Facebook ad preferences, Google ad settings, youradchoices.com.au or youronlinechoices.eu, and out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
Messages and opting out
Texts and emails from us identify Define Detailing. Reply STOP to any text, or contact us, and we'll stop marketing messages within 5 working days. We keep a record of when and how you gave consent.
Access, correction and complaints
To see, correct or delete the details we hold about you, or to make a privacy complaint, contact us on 0493 032 997 or definedetailinggc@gmail.com. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Free paint decontamination offer
- Claim it through the offer pop-up or by locking in a quote with our quote builder.
- For first-time customers only. One per customer and one per vehicle.
- Applies to Interior Detail and Exterior Detail bookings. The Full Detail already includes paint decontamination as standard, so it isn't added to a Full Detail.
- Valued at $30, our standard price for the paint decontamination (clay bar) add-on.
- No cash value. Can't be exchanged, transferred or combined with other offers.
- We may end the offer at any time. Anything already claimed will still be honoured on your first booking.
Bookings, cancellations & our guarantee
- Your price: the price shown in your quote or on the booking page is what you pay. You pay on the day once the job's done.
- Changes and cancellations: please give us at least 24 hours' notice to move or cancel. There's no fee.
- Weather: if rain stops us, we'll reschedule free of charge.
- Access: we need access to your car and, ideally, a tap and a power point. If you don't have these, tell us when you book and we'll sort something out.
- Satisfaction guarantee: if you're not happy with any part of the job, tell us before we leave and we'll redo that area free.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
